Hey baby, got any plans this Valentine’s Day? Come solo or bring your pals to QAW’s Valentine’s Gay at Vox Populi. Show up early to mingle with the art, sign up to compete, and send Cupid’s arrow across the room with a special messaging service. Watch your friends aggressively hold hands and then stick around after for a dance party.

If you want to compete, be sure to show up when doors open! Noodle arms and Popeyes both welcome!

Queer Arm Wrestling (QAW) is a community fundraising event. Creating spaces for queers and their friends to come together, celebrate creativity and strength, and raise money for justice/equity/joy based orgs.

The show is built on participation - attendees can choose to enter their name in the hat to be drawn at random and paired against a similar-strength opponent. Costumes and characters are encouraged at QAW events but by no means required. It’s a safe space to show up as your fullest expression of self - whatever it is today.

QAW founded by Philadelph-Ohioan (Ohio-delphian?), Jett Biggert. Jett is a non-binary handyperson, artist, wrestler, and Kensington neighbor who finds joy in how our shared and disparate identities create a beautiful tapestry - stronger for the intersections and numbers of us woven together. QAW is inspired by Gunz of Steel, Baltimore-based women’s and non-binary arm wrestling outfit, and Philadelphia’s Art Wrestling Federation Urban League (AWFUL Wrestling).
