Jack Malaby’s Portraits of Azul is a showcase of black and brown artists’ works of art using the color blue as exploration of racial representation. The installation features other artists of color, spanning from painters to musicians to DJs.
Jack Malaby is a upcoming photographer in the Jersey City/Philly area. His style is built from a deep connection through culture and color. Born and raised in Jersey City, Jack came from a background of West Coast chicano parents who moved to the East Coast to play jazz, and a heavy influence from inner city living. Jack had his first art show in Jersey City called DOG DAYS which was based on a trip he took to the Barrios of Tucson in the summer of 2023. So far Jack has been shooting for the band Cold Court and is moving to upstate New York to continue studying photography at Bard. His next show is PORTRAITS OF AZUL.
