September First Friday

We have FOUR new exhibitions all opening on September 6th! Join us for the Opening Reception from 6-9pm!

Aaron Terry "Terms and Conditions Apply Presented in Gallery 1

“Terms and Conditions Apply” is an installation work by Aaron Terry inviting visitors to consider to what end they are willing to enter and participate in an art installation in incremental steps. In this case, the art installation intends to metaphorically present the possibility and potential of participation on a larger, public scale.

MAKEBA “KEEBS”RAINEY. Of Water NSU BURA Presented in Gallery 2

Water whispers ancient truths, its flowing currents a mirror to the soul. By its edge, meditation becomes a silent dialogue with the infinite. In its depths lies both clarity and mystery, inviting us to listen to its whispers and embrace its transformative power. As we drink from its source, we are reminded that our existence is intertwined, a single drop in a vast ocean.

AMY YOSHITSU & JOHANNAH HERR Conjuring Cruelty Presented in Gallery 3

"Inherited and Re-made" by Amy Yoshitsu brings language, as an articulator of internalizations, persuasions, fears and assumptions, to human body scale. This new work is a deeply personal approach to the many ways Yoshitu seeks to get at collective and unique experiences, and how we understand and reflect on positionalities dependent on time, culture, and family conditions.

In 1957, early television magician John Mulholland retired from the stage. But his “retirement” was itself an elaborate illusion, covering that he was actually recruited by the CIA. Herr uses Mulholland’s tenure as a launching point for "Collateral Magic," a body of work including a satirical @agitpoppress publication (created in concert with writer @carashef er), a series of “magic kits," and six lenticular prints—all a friendly reminder that one cannot spell magician without the CIA
