Dialogues: A Conversation and Performance is a series of events in which we invite someone to discuss their creative process and present an aspect or aspects of their work. For this edition we bring you a performance and discussion with pedal steel guitarist Susan Alcorn and bassist Jair-Rohm Parker Wells in their first ever duo collaboration.
One of the world’s premiere exponents of her instrument, Susan Alcorn has taken the pedal steel guitar far beyond its traditional role in country music. Having first paid her dues in Texas country & western bands, she began to expand the vocabulary of her instrument through her study of 20th century classical music, visionary jazz, and world musics. https://www.susanalcorn.net/
