Border Imperialism & Militarized Global Apartheid; Analyzing Dispossession, Containment and Boundaries

PRESENTED BY: Taïna Jabouin & Índigo Jordan

Join Índigo and Taïna, two Queer Afro-Caribbean refugees, in a pertinent teach-in on border imperialism and global apartheid. As we watch multiple genocides occur globally, we, as inhabitants of the imperial core, must challenge and unlearn all ethnocentric, racist, and xenophobic propaganda tools.

1. Global Racialized Labor Exploitation

-The rise of systems of global apartheid has created a racialized world order (Anti-Black Anti-Indigenous) and a hierarchical labor market dependent on differential access to mobility

2. Empire Expansion & The Legacy of Colonialist

Violence

-The expansion of systems of resource plunder primarily by western powers in the global south renders communities of the global south unsustainable for ordinary life

3. Border Violence & Separation

-Actors of western hegemony are increasingly investing in militarized border regimes across the world, to criminalize the movement of people and to oppress and dominate the global working majority
